Fun Facts
My biggest passion is my grandson. I have waited for a long time, and he finally came. We enjoy walks, pools and playing. If I am not at home or work, I am with my grandboy. I am an avid gardener, and I love to grow everything. I did struggle this summer with my garden, due to Pigweed. After, I persisted on getting rid of all the Pigweed, I now have a flourishing garden.
About Me
I am a paraeducator at an Elementary school for 25 years, and I enjoy working with people of all ages. I am an experienced EMT and Medical Assistant. Patience and never giving up are how I roll. Never say you "Can't, because if you try, you can."
One of my passions is to help kids learn to read. I believe this is important to start early, because communication is very important. It will also help you navigate through your social life and help you learn how to talk to peers, family, and stranger
Experience
I would stay after school and tutor a few kids, and when I was in EMT school, I tutored as well. I started just volunteering at my son's school, and they asked me to work there. So, I took the plunge and started as a reading coach for 3 years, and then a position for the Science Enrichment Paraprofessional opened, and I was hired. I taught Kindergarten-4th grade, and I absolutely loved it. The kids loved coming to class because we were always hands-on.
Approach
As a student in Elementary school, I was bullied and made fun of. I really liked staying to myself. One day, the bullying stopped because there was a new student to pick on. Don't bully or be mean, just treat everyone the same. Self-confidence is needed when in school. Give it your all and try hard. I would love to help students who struggle in class because they can't focus on school due to whatever is going on for them to lose focus. I will bring patience and understanding.

Anatomy Physiology II Tutoring
I've been Elementary schools for the past 25 years. I am strong in Elementary teaching of all subjects. I know the child development especially with behavioral kiddos. I was an Emt for 20 years and I ran an ambulance company for 15 of them. I am strong in Anatomy, Medical Terminology, and communications, I am also currently in a Medical and Coding class, that I am excelling at. I have a great history with being patient, understanding, and kind.

Child Development Tutoring
I feel with my 25 years of being a Paraeducator, I know Child Development pretty well, after all I have work with mostly elementary students. I have taken many classes on Child Development and I have learned a lot. Child Development is always changing, I keep up with the changes by completing classes on this subject. I like to stay on top with new ideas.
Communication Tutoring
I was the Communication Director for an ambulance company on the Western Slope of Colorado for 15 years. I was in charge of staffing and hiring, maintaining contracts from the medical facilities we transferred for. I engaged with CEO's, Dr's, Nurses' and all First Responders.
Medical Surgical Tutoring
As an Medical Assistant I have worked with Dr's who do small surgeries in their offices and or doing the bigger surgery at the hospital. Medical Surgical was part of my training as well.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
Reading comprehension has always been one of my strong suits. I believe that each student, will learn in different ways. Visuals are always easy to use. Patience and persistence is achievable if you stick with it.
Reading Tutoring
I was a reading coach for 3 years for grades Kindergarten-Sixth grades. I loved teaching reading. My son had a very difficult time learning how to read. But with persistence and patience, that he had to learn he finally gained his confidence and started to really read. It is important to ask the student what they enjoy to read, so you can obtain some items that they may enjoy reading.
Elementary Math Tutoring
I have taught elementary math up to 6th grade. I make math fun because it is sometimes hard to learn.
Science Tutoring
I did teach Science Enrichment for three years and I absolutely loved it. My students rarely were in their desks because I was a hands on, let's get it done. We once even dissected an alligator, the kids loved it. Seeing is believing in science.
Social Studies Tutoring
I did teach Social Studies to student's during my Elementary teaching days. I love learning again from my students. Learning changes for each individual and I believe each of you can learn in your ways.
STAAR Reading Tutoring
I have taught the Staar reading program at 2 of the schools I have worked at.
CMA Tutoring
I was a Certified Medical Assistant for 15 years while i worked on the ambulance. I am strong in Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Terminology and study habits. I am patient and love teaching.
EMT Tutoring
I was an EMT on the western slope of Colorado. I ran calls of all different types of problems, I was the Communication Director, I was in charge of staffing the ambulances, standbys at concerts, games and airplane crew pickups. I did lots of engaging with hospital CEO's Dr's, Nurses fist responders. My communication is awesome I feel.
