Fun Facts

A fun fact about me is that I really enjoy going to concerts, and my favourite genre of music is 90's alternative/rock. Some of the bands I've seen in concert are Green Day, Pierce the Veil, Blink-182, Three Days Grace, Korn, etc. Aside from math, some other things I enjoy are drawing, reading, painting, and building LEGO. My favourite LEGO set I've built is the Central Perk set from the show Friends. In addition to collecting Legos, I have a large collection of stuffed animals!

About Me

I am a senior at Fresno State, majoring in General Mathematics (Teaching Option) with a 3.66 GPA. After I graduate, I plan to obtain my Single-Subject Teaching Credential and become a high school math teacher. I would also love to further my education by obtaining an M.S. in Mathematics.

Experience

I took an introduction to teaching course (EHD 50) at Fresno State that provided me with 45 observation hours in a high school math class. In addition to my formal observation hours, my experience as a mathematics major at Fresno State has provided me with countless opportunities to work in collaborative learning environments. I frequently work with my peers inside and outside of class, learning from and teaching one through discussions and problem-solving activities.

Approach

I often hear individuals say they are inherently bad at math, and as a result, they shy away from the subject altogether. My goal is to help others appreciate and enjoy mathematics by shifting this mindset. I aim to build students’ confidence by helping them develop strong problem-solving skills and viewing their mistakes as valuable opportunities for growth.
I believe that everyone learns at their own pace, and it's important to tailor instruction to meet each student's unique needs.
