About Me

I am a seeker of wisdom and a lover of my family and friends. Everything I do, I try to do in service to my faith and those around me. I have three bachelor's degrees.
1. South Dakota State University - Geography - 2024 - 3.86 GPA
2. South Dakota State University - GIS - 2024 - 3.86 GPA
3. Grand Canyon University- Digital Design - 2019 - 3.9 GPA
As you can see, I learned a lot, and I know it well. After college, I worked as a GIS Specialist for a non-profit. I seek to become a GIS Analyst.

Experience

I have been tutoring since I was seventeen at the college level because I love helping people. I earned three bachelor's degrees in Digital Design, Geography, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), along with half a bachelor's degree in Geology/Palaeontology. I have worked in a Palaeontology Lab as an undergraduate and professionally as a GIS Specialist, where I utilised various programming languages and geographic skill sets.

Approach

I was in school for twenty years, so I know every stage from super excited to "I'll never get through this". My goal is to be there for and support students at every stage of their academic journey. Specifically, I will help them find the answers to their questions, teach them how to identify those questions on their own, and reassure them that they are not alone in their struggles.

Geography Tutoring

I earned my B.S. in Geographic Information Sciences from South Dakota State University, where I studied cartography, world regional geography, population geography, and GIS applications. My GPA of 3.848 demonstrates consistent success across these courses. I also completed advanced GIS projects in vector/raster modeling, uncrewed aircraft systems, and emergency management, giving me practical expertise to tutor both human and physical geography.

Geology Tutoring

While attending South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, I completed courses in physical geology, mineralogy, stratigraphy, structural geology, paleontology, petrology, and geomorphology. These courses included extensive lab and fieldwork, such as fossil preparation and sediment analysis. Although I did not graduate from Mines, this background gives me a strong foundation to explain complex earth processes with clarity.

Writing Tutoring

At Copper Mountain College and Yavapai College, I studied Composition I, Business English, and Creative Writing, consistently earning A grades. My studies also included public speaking and logic, which sharpened my ability to teach argumentation and structure. As a published author, I bring both academic and creative writing experience to tutoring, helping students build confidence and polish their style.

Writing Advance Tutoring

My coursework across three colleges included upper-level writing, logic, and communication, all of which demanded strong analytical writing skills. I have extensive experience editing research papers and professional writing for clarity and accuracy. Combined with my own publishing experience, I am able to guide students through higher-level writing projects, from research papers to professional essays.

Environmental Science Tutoring

My degree in Geographic Information Sciences combined geography, geology, biology, and sustainability courses to give me a broad environmental science foundation. I completed coursework in biology, chemistry, physics, and statistics that connects directly to environmental applications. This interdisciplinary approach allows me to explain environmental science as an integrated field rather than isolated topics.

Computer Programming Tutoring

I studied Programming for Engineers and Scientists at South Dakota Mines, applying coding directly in physics and math courses. At SDSU, I expanded this with programming in Python and R for GIS and statistical modeling. I can teach students both the fundamentals of syntax and how to apply programming to real-world data problems.

Graphic Design Tutoring

At Grand Canyon University, I completed multiple design-focused courses, including typography, history of design, and advanced digital art. Earlier, I also studied drawing and 2D design at Copper Mountain College. With training in both traditional art and modern digital tools, plus freelance design experience, I am well-prepared to teach students how to combine creativity with technical skills.

English Tutoring

My strong foundation in composition, logic, and creative writing across Copper Mountain College and Yavapai College translates well into tutoring high school English. I can guide students in essay writing, literary analysis, and effective communication. My ability to teach both structure and style makes me a supportive mentor for English learners.

Science Tutoring

With extensive coursework in geology, physics, chemistry, and biology, I am well-qualified to teach high school earth science. My lab and field experiences help me simplify complex earth systems for younger learners. I emphasize making science hands-on and relatable.

Earth Science Tutoring

My transcript shows a broad science background including chemistry, biology, physics, geology, and statistics. This interdisciplinary knowledge allows me to teach multiple high school science subjects. I focus on building strong fundamentals so students can succeed in advanced courses later.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring

My background in composition, creative writing, and public speaking gave me tools for analyzing texts at a high level. I can break these strategies down for middle school students, focusing on themes, vocabulary, and critical thinking. I aim to help students not only understand texts but also enjoy reading.

Computer Science Tutoring

I studied programming and computational problem-solving at South Dakota Mines and applied these skills in GIS at SDSU. My experience spans algorithms, data structures, and real-world coding projects. This makes me well-prepared to teach students both theory and practical application.

HTML Tutoring

I have hands-on experience using HTML to build websites, combining structure with modern design principles. My studies in design and layout reinforce how to present content effectively. This combination makes me qualified to teach students the foundations of web development.
