Fun Facts
The ABCDs of me: I'm an Author, a Bibliophile (I love books), a Cat mom, and a D&D nerd! :)
About Me
After focusing solely on one of the two, I've finally combined my love of writing and my passion for teaching to become a tutor, mentor, and learning coach for children. With a degree in English writing from Western Carolina University and over 11 years in the Early Childhood Education field, I'm thoroughly enjoying this next phase of my life where I combine both sides of myself together.
Experience
During my 11 years in Early Childhood Education, I specifically spent the last four years with school-aged children (elementary-aged children). This also included the virtual-hybrid school year of 2021-22, where I had a class of 20 children from Kindergarten through 6th grade. I didn't know it then, but that has honestly helped me transition to online tutoring perfectly!
Approach
As a child, I struggled with different aspects of school and learning. It wasn't until I was in my 30s that I was finally diagnosed with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), and my struggles with my education finally made sense! Having never known why I struggled sometimes with school, and other times I did well, I finally created my own system of tips and tricks to make learning easier for me. I want to be able to help students, with or without learning difficulties.
