Fun Facts
My first degree was in automotive technology; however, my true passion is geography. I can talk about it all day!
About Me
Currently, I am a Funding Specialist doing GIS work full-time for a company based in Kansas City. By night, I'm an adjunct geography professor because I love teaching. I am thinking of pursuing my PhD soon. That would be an amazing feat for me. I enjoy reading, painting, photography, and being outdoors in nature.
Experience
I am a lifetime member of the International Geography Honors Society. I have about 10 years of teaching experience working as a professor, adjunct, and tutor for a variety of students. I have worked at big universities as well as community colleges, and even worked with students to obtain their GED and learn English.
Approach
I love learning, and I love teaching what I've learned. Being able to help students better their learning experience is what I strive for. Not everyone learns the same way, and I understand that. Therefore, I strive to make learning fun and help students become better learners. This is accomplished by doing a variety of tasks, including hands-on and fun quizzes, to help break the anxiety and shyness.
