Fun Facts

My favorite place to be: by the ocean or, in the case of living in Minnesota, Lake Superior. I love writing, reading, photography, and music. I am a grandmother of six, a spouse, and a transplanted New Englander, New Yorker, Floridian, and Texan.

About Me

My work time is flexible. This allows me to volunteer in my community. For example, I have a contact in a nearby Mexican-American community. I arranged a private budget workshop for teens and adults at the public library in their town.
I am an advocate and love to see people gain confidence and skills! Writing is a powerful skill that I have used throughout my career. Whether it is designing a website, writing an article, or preparing a presentation, reading and writing are my thing!

Experience

As I mentioned earlier, my entire career has been centered on serving people. Advocacy is second-nature. I like the approach, attitude, mission, and process of working in a people-focused environment. I've learned the importance of relationships to advancing any goals. So, to help people, listening to client experiences and goals is key.

Approach

My approach: I get to listen to people's stories. In the listening, I learn about how to help. Appropriate help when the client is ready yields better results than any other approach. I appreciate being involved in helping someone master a communication skill. My mentors in high school and college listened to me and then offered help. That approach increased my skills and confidence. It is the approach I use too.
