Fun Facts
Outside the lab and classroom, I love cooking and experimenting with new recipes—chemistry you can eat! I also enjoy long walks and listening to podcasts about science and history. My students are often surprised that I’m just as excited about a good cup of coffee and a soccer match as I am about reaction mechanisms.
About Me
I am a PhD chemist and college Chemistry instructor with several years of experience teaching and tutoring General, Organic, and Physical Chemistry. I’m very comfortable working with students at all levels, from high school chemistry through advanced college courses, and I focus on breaking down difficult concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations. During our sessions, we’ll practice lots of problems, review lab concepts, and build study strategies tailored to your class and professor. My goal is to help you feel confident, improve your grades, and maybe even start to enjoy chemistry along the way.
Experience
10+ years of teaching advanced-level Chemistry subjects
Approach
My approach is student-centred and very practical. I know chemistry can feel intimidating, so I focus on breaking big ideas into clear, manageable steps and then reinforcing them with lots of guided practice. In our sessions, I ask questions, work through problems alongside you, and show multiple ways to view the same concept until it clicks. I tailor examples to your course, notes, and textbook, and I always connect topics to real-life or lab situations so they are easier to remember.
