Fun Facts

I was a top 6-ranked Taekwondo athlete in the United States during and after college. I enjoy learning new academic topics and building computer programs for fun.

About Me

I attended Boston College from 2016 to 2020, where I majored in Biology and developed a strong foundation in analytical thinking and problem-solving.

Experience

Throughout my undergraduate years, I spent multiple summers tutoring ACT and SAT preparation as well as K–12 mathematics. Most of the students I worked with were middle and high school learners who struggled with standardized testing, often due to gaps in foundational concepts or ineffective test-taking habits. My tutoring experience spans both group instruction and one-on-one volunteer settings, allowing me to adapt my approach to different learning styles and levels of need.

Approach

My teaching philosophy centers on building understanding rather than short-term memorization. I begin by breaking down effective test-taking strategies so students learn how to approach questions with confidence and clarity. From there, I focus on step-by-step exploration of underlying concepts, ensuring students understand not just what the correct answer is, but why it is correct. I believe memorization and pattern recognition alone are insufficient for long-term academic success.

Algebra Tutoring

I received an A on all my mathematics courses and is one of my favorite subjects to teach. I believe that applying everyday objects to Algebra greater increases understanding of the baseline concept rather than promoting memorization.

Pre Algebra Tutoring

I received an A on all my mathematics courses and is one of my favorite subjects to teach. Pre-Algebra is a ginormous transition in mathematics where variables are introduced. I enjoy teaching the semi-abtract concept of variables by creating real life analogies rather than focusing on memorization.

Math Tutoring

I received an A on all my mathematics courses and is one of my favorite subjects to teach. I believe relaying real life equivalences to mathematics is a great way to help improve academic test scores and overall understanding. I find teaching the "why?" makes mathematic concepts easier to digest rather than forcing hundreds of formula flashcards is a much more effective way to teach mathematics.

Math Advance Tutoring

I believe relaying real life equivalences to mathematics is a great way to help improve academic test scores and overall understanding. I find teaching the "why?" makes mathematic concepts easier to digest rather than forcing hundreds of formula flashcards is a much more effective way to teach mathematics.

ACT Math Tutoring

My ACT Math score was 35/36. I have years of experience tutoring ACT Math win an average increase of 6 (ex. starting 26 -> 32) points depending on a student's starting point. I love mathematics and walking students down logical ways to solve problems rather than memorzie formulas for similar questions.

SAT Math Tutoring

I scored 800 on both SAT Math and SAT Subject Math 2. I have many years of experience tutoring SAT Math and Subject Math 2 with an average increase in score of 120 points (ex. starting from 630 -> 750) depending on a student's starting point. I find that helping students understand how to break down what the question is asking and what tools fit each question is much more effective than simple memorization.

ACT Reading Tutoring

I scored a 35/36 on ACT Reading. ACT Reading is one of my favorite subjects to teach because there is a real puzzle-like aspect to standardized reading sections. On average, my students have improved their ACT Reading score by 7 points depending on their starting poitns (ex 27 -> 34).

Algebra II Tutoring

I received an A on all my mathematics courses and is one of my favorite subjects to teach. I believe that applying everyday objects to Algebra II greater increases understanding of the baseline concept rather than promoting memorization.

English Tutoring

I approach English instruction by emphasizing critical thinking, interpretation, and clear communication rather than memorization. By guiding students to analyze themes, structure, and language through discussion and real-world examples, I help them develop skills that translate across reading, writing, and test-based settings.
