Fun Facts
When not teaching, I work on my third book for publication. When finished with that book, I may dabble in writing my third musical and in writing papers on new math and science techniques.
About Me
I am a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy (Economics), chicago">University of Chicago (MBA), GW University (Political Communication) and MIT (Executive MBA / Analytics). Throughout, I received multiple awards for being the top graduate in math, economics and leadership. I currently teach History and English at Havre de Grace (MD) High School.
Experience
- Currently teach History and English at Havre de Grace (MD) High School.
- Previously taught at the washington-university">George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management for six years.
- Developed seven entire training programs over 30 years of teaching.
- Most recently, my teaching approach raised the average GPA of over 90 9th-graders from the high 50% to the high 80% in the space of three months. Working for Frog Tutoring allows me to bring similar results to others.
Approach
I focus on the WHY as much as the WHAT to help garner true understanding. Having taught less-than-enthused middle-aged managers and less-than-stationary 1st-graders in the past, I focus on interactive and unique ways to learn to supplement memorization or practice. Building with Play-Doh can reinforce some material just as much as a quiz. Writing a Dr Suess-esque rhyme can engage as much as a typical three-paragraph essay.
