I am a singer! I've sang since 4th grade and currently am in The Ohio State University Men's Glee Club. I have been involved in music ever since I was a kid.
About Me
I am a graduating senior in science/ohio/columbus">Computer Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University. I have been involved with a number of student organization on campus such as Undergraduate Student Government, American Society for Engineering Education, Ohio State Engineering Magazine, and The Ohio State University Men's Glee Club. I am passionate about how computers can make people's lives safer and easier.
Experience
I have informally tutored students my entire life. I have always held that teaching is the best way to learn, so I always participated in groups or teams where I got the chance to teach other students in my classes. I have also taught younger students in a number of informal settings such as day workshops about engineering and computers. My mother was a 5 and 6 grade education/ohio/columbus">special education teacher for 10 years, so I grew up in a family that knew and valued teaching.
Approach
I never want to give the student the answer, and that is teaching is hard. You always want to guide them to figure the answer out on their own. The goal is not to teach them answers, but to teach them how to reach those answers without you. Just as a programmer's job is to put themselves out of a job by building systems such that the users of the system don't need a programmer, the job of a teacher is to prepare the student to no longer need them.

Although I have taken and passed triple variable Calculus, I feel most comfortable with the basics of Calculus. I received a 5 on the AP Calculus AB test in High School, and re-took the same material in college.
