Fun Facts

My passion is service and helping my community and loved ones! I also just really enjoy talking and interacting with people. I was born and raised in NYC, and some of my favorite activities are dancing, swimming, and spending time with my good friends.

About Me

I am a freshman at Howard University, in Washington, DC. Although I plan to do a lot more exploring, I think I will be a History major on a pre-law tract and use my skills, education, and experience to make impacts in the areas of poverty, civil rights, human rights, and education.

Experience

From my freshman to my senior year in high school I was a volunteer reading washington-dc">tutor for elementary and middle school students through the organization Reading Partners. I've also had the opportunity to interact and work with younger kids as a Peer Mentor in my high school, a Teen Leader at my neighborhood hospital, a babysitter and big sister!

Approach

Growing up I always loved to learn and read. It breaks my heart that some kids hate school and don't share my love of learning because they struggle academically. Having grown up in New York, I also find the education disparity in our public schools incredibly unfortunate. When I work with students I hope to awaken that love of learning. I encourage my students to learn ways to figure things out for themselves before asking for an answer. I hope they feel empowered and know they are capable.
