About Me
I am a Economics major with a minor in business management at maryland/columbia">columbia">maryland/columbia">columbia-university">maryland/columbia">columbia">maryland/columbia">Columbia University. I want to obtain a MBA after college and eventually start my own business. I started my first business when I was 18.
Since sophomore year in high school, I have volunteered as a chicago">tutor at the Sue Duncan community center in the rough South side of Chicago. I have tutored many students whose ages ranged from 8-13 in primarily math and science. After college application, I have tutored many younger friends and peers in SAT, helping them achieve the same score increases that I did.
When I was a junior, my pre-calculus teacher once made each student do difficult problems on blackboard. Upon finishing, we were evaluated not on the correctness of our answer but our thought processes. I hope to understand how my students think and offer them feedback and shortcuts to make their methods more efficient. Mistakes are the most important part of the learning process and they offer the greatest opportunities for development. I usually series of positive reinforcement that encourage the student to make positive changes to their habits and performances. Most importantly, I believe that my students deserve the best practice material: previously administered tests. I will provide my SAT and AP students with previously administered tests with answers to practice and learn from.
