Fun Facts
I absolutely love animals, and my mother's standard poodle is shown in dog shows across the nation! I also have two rescue cats named Nina and Sophia.
About Me
I am a recent graduate of Trinity University, now a part-time blog writer for an alternative weekly newspaper called the San Antonio Current. My personal goal is to pursue a career in investigative journalism.
Experience
I was employed as a writing tutor for three years during my college career. I served as a Teacher's Assistant for a writing workshop class for two years, and I was employed as a Peer Tutor in my university's Writing Center for one year. As a writer, I have also published several articles in a local alternative weekly magazine. I am confident that I could help any young writer improve their work.
Approach
My personal methodology is geared towards helping a student improve his or her writing skills themselves, rather than purely focusing on any one paper or project. I believe that it is helpful to read a writing sample aloud with a student and discuss issues and improvements together. My ultimate goal is to empower students as writers.

As a Teacher's Assistant for a writing workshop class, I helped students learning how to write at a college level. Philosophy Tutoring
I majored in philosophy while attending Trinity University, because I have a passion for ideas and logical arguments. I studied closely with my professors in small seminar settings that heavily focused on discussion and critical thinking. My favorite topics included Nietzsche and Delueze, although I am familiar with the full spectrum of popularly studied philosophers. I would enjoy helping students grasp theoretical ideas, edit projects and essays, and prepare for classroom discussions.
