Fun Facts

I grew up in Alaska and I love sledding, snowboarding and fishing. Until moving to Texas for graduate school, I only lived in the northwest. Here in Texas, I enjoy spending time with friends and knitting.

About Me

I have a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from washington/seattle">seattle-pacific-university">washington/seattle">Seattle Pacific University and a Master's degree in Social Work from the arlington">University of Texas in Arlington. Eventually, I would like to work as a social worker in a veteran's hospital. For now, I am enjoying working overnights for the state of Texas.

While attending college in washington/seattle">Seattle, I drank a lot of coffee and tutored Native American students in the washington/seattle">Seattle School District. During graduate school in Arlington, I tutored k-12 students in many subject areas, including SAT preparation. I am excited to work with Frog portland">Tutoring and help students reach their academic potential.

I believe that good study skills are paramount in achieving success in any subject and it is important for me to teach students these skills so that they can excell in all of their classes. I was fortunate to have many great teachers in my life who taught me that education is a gift. I hope that through patience and persistence, I can pass this gift on to the students I portland">tutor.
