I'm a runner! I love putting my trainers on in the morning and going out for a nice, long run. I think It's a great way to destress and start the day. You can jam out to your favorite playlist, catch up with your friends or even just have a quiet stroll without music!
About Me
I am a student at Hunter College studying Biochemistry and Theatre! My GPA is 3.97. Like many students from the school, I am preparing to go to medical school. But I like to venture out into different disciplines and passions hence my minor in theatre. I have been doing research at NYU Langone Medical Center for the past year and I had an amazing opportunity to conduct research for the USDA down in Florida this past January! I am presenting my findings at Hunter's annual undergraduate research so that is quite exciting.
Experience
From when I attended Townsend Harris High School, I tutored students in elementary and junior high school. At first, it was done as a favor to the students' parents but as it went on, I learned to value teaching! The progress that you see in students is so remarkable and to see students brighten up after understanding the material is truly rewarding. I know I had trouble understanding some concepts when I was younger and from that, I inclined to teach in a way that students found interesting.
Approach
There’s nothing worse than feeling discouraged after a lesson. “Everyone else seems to be getting it but me” thought can really take a toll on students. So I try to provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to motivate and build confidence. At the end of the day, the student gets to leave the class feeling much more content with the material! It’s important to not lose focus because of that one topic, I will go over it again, using different examples.

Biochemistry
Chemistry Tutoring
Chemistry was one of my favorite subjects in high school! I received over a 95 at the end of the year and I found myself wanting to know more about it as the years went on.
Science Tutoring
Up until last December, I have been tutoring an 8th grader in science, math and English. As mentioned, chemistry is a big passion of mine and its involvement in other science fields is what I find fascinating. I would like to share that passion with my students.
Math Advance Tutoring
After taking algebra before entering high school, I see where certain students need help in. Adding onto Algebra, Geometry is a subject that students are participating in prior to high school. I have received over a 90 on Geometry regents.
Chemistry I Tutoring
I have taken General Chemistry I (A) and II (A+). I often helped out my peers during study sessions with concepts that they were struggling with and I found myself enjoying the experience of being able to share my knowledge.
Pre Algebra Tutoring
Through a peer tutoring program at my high school, I stayed after school to help out students who were struggling with their homework or classwork.
Pre Calculus Tutoring
After tutoring my peers in pre-algebra, I also began to tutor in pre-calculus. I received over a 90 as my final grade and was able to move on to AP-calculus.
Study Skills Tutoring
Coming from a highly demanding high school, I learned to manage my time accordingly and allot a good chunk of time dedicated to reviewing classwork to refresh my mind about what I learned. I think it's extremely important to have good time management skills.
Algebra Tutoring
I was selected as one of the few students who were able to take Algebra in 8th grade. I enjoyed the coursework and was able to excel in class. I tutored Algebra in high school.
English Tutoring
English is my second language and for that, I worked extra hard to not fall behind my peers. From that, I paid close attention to grammar, spelling and etc. I was able to attend one of NYC's competitive humanities based school.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
Reading comprehension is a big portion of state exams and I feel that this section requires a lot of practice. Improving reading techniques and being able to comprehend the material enough to answer questions in a short amount of time needs time management. I have tutored an 8th grader and was able to bring his reading grade to an A from a C.
