Fun Facts
I enjoy playing most sports, including basketball, soccer, golf, table tennis, tennis, and pool (8-ball & 9-ball). Besides that, I enjoy spending time with my daughter and son.
About Me
I completed my Masters degree in Mathematics at UT back in 2011 and went on to work as an Actuarial Property Pricing Analyst at USAA in San Antonio for two years. I left USAA to go back to school as a non-degree seeking undergraduate student to build upon my knowledge of statistical packages such as R and SAS as well as to help decide whether or not to pursue a PhD. I started my PhD in Mathematics at The University of North Texas in 2016 and am currently trying to finish my dissertation.
Experience
I have had a lot of experience with informal tutoring of students, mostly helping friends/family and friends of friends/family. I feel very comfortable tutoring material of basic mathematics up through calculus I & II. I also feel very comfortable with statistics, probability and material relating to actuarial exams P/1, FM/2, and MLC/3. I have the following teaching experience at UNT:
TA for:
-Calculus I & II
Taught:
-Probability 6 times
-Statistics twice
-Calculus I
-Business Calc(x2)
Approach
I have found that going through a series of examples is typically the best way to learn new concepts in math and statistics.
