Fun Facts

One passion people quickly learn about me is that I LOVE to cook! Any time I have a chance, you will find me in kitchen practicing and perfecting my cooking abilities. I enjoy being outdoors and find activities that allow me to be outside as much as possible. On Saturdays, I like to take my dogs to the Trinity River or to the dog park to get as much of their energy out as possible.

About Me

This is my first year as a 5th & 6th grade PE teacher. I taught first grade for 2 years before moving to PE. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2010 with a degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Business.
During college, I was very involved in my sorority, Delta Gamma. I held multiple positions, including Rush Day Coordinator and Social Planner. I also helped lead study groups with other Delta Gammas that were in my same field of study.

Experience

Throughout high school, I babysat many kids in my community. This gave me multiple opportunities to tutor students in all subject areas. Upon entering college, I was eager to begin working with students again. I worked at a summer camp for 2 summers and started substitute teaching. While substituting and student teaching, I was able to help tutor students who were struggling in their classes. Approach

When I started substitute teaching in college, I realized that many kids do not have someone that helps them realize their true potential through positive encouragement and persistence. As a tutor, I attempt to bring this attitude to all of my tutoring sessions. Instead of giving students answers, I feel it is my responsibility to not only teach them the content, but also the study skills that will help them to be successful in all classes!
