About Me

I am a teacher that loves teaching students of all ages. I have more than 5 years of experience working with children in multiple settings. I have a passion for children and plan to one day become an education consultant and work with the families of disabled and diagnosed children.

In the past, I have tutored elementary as well as middle school aged children in a number of areas including math and reading. I have been a spelling bee charlotte">tutor, math charlotte">tutor and homework charlotte">tutor for children in my community, church and family.

I will charlotte">tutor in the areas of math-elementary/north-carolina/charlotte">elementary math, reading-comprehension/north-carolina/charlotte">reading comprehension, phonics, math-middle-school/north-carolina/charlotte">middle school math and reading-comprehension/north-carolina/charlotte">reading comprehension. I currently teach middle school, but have also taught elementary school as well. I hold my students to high standards and am always researching and creating new ways to teach all subjects for maximum comprehension. I bring a common interest among my students into the classroom/lesson to keep their focus while teaching as well as keeping them enthused with the subject. i will have open availability throughout the summer and am looking forward to getting started!

Experience

Before becoming a teacher, while in high school, I volunteered in my community to charlotte">tutor elementary students preparing for the annual spelling bee. After college I worked in a residential facility in a multitude of positions including teaching the students we housed in our facility. From there to the present, I have had years of experience teaching, charlotte">tutoring and counseling student and children in a variety of areas.

Approach

As a student, I was ways the one that volunteered to help my peers when I saw them struggling with a concept I understood. It was back then I knew I wanted to help others in any way I could. Now, as a teacher, I have a passion for tweaking traditional ways of teaching to reach my students. Whether it's through music, movement or nature, I find an interest in my students and include it in our learning.
