Fun Facts

A true Boston girl at heart, I have never lived outside of Massachusetts for more than three months at a time. I love iced coffee and chocolate-covered strawberries and spend most weekends cooking for roommates or watching football with my family.

About Me

I am a senior English major and American Studies minor at boston-college">Boston College. I have maintained over a 3.5 GPA my entire college career. English isn't my only passion, however. I'm the Managing Editor of The Heights, the boston-college">Boston College student newspaper. This has given me three years of experience writing, editing, and designing in InDesign and Photoshop. Finally, I've completed through Intermediate Level Spanish at BC and spent summer living 2015 in Santiago

Experience

In high school, I volunteered weekly boston">tutoring at-risk kindergarteners in reading and math. Once I arrived at BC I was eager to begin assume a teaching role again. I applied to Peer Health Exchange, which allowed me to teach Health classes to high school freshman all over the city of Boston. Finally, I work weekly with the writers for The Heights, the boston-college">Boston College student newspaper developing and editing their writing. I'm excited to share the subjects I'm passionate about through Frog boston">Tutoring

Approach

I always loved to read, but hated English class. Frustrated, my mother brought me to boston">tutor, Tara, who made writing interesting. We quickly realized I was just bored. Tara gave me writing assignments which were fun (things such as explain how to make a PB&J to an alien), but taught me organization and offered prizes for big accomplishments. That mentality has stuck with me. As a boston">tutor, I am to make the session worth it to the student, as we explore and find the best answer together.
