Fun Facts
I love arts and crafts projects, if anyone gives me a few crafty things I could spend hours making something out of nothing! I enjoy being active on campus, as well as going back home in Allen, TX to spend time with my friends and family. I enjoy going on road trips with my friends, even if its a day trip.
About Me
I am a junior Decision Science/Business Analytic major at the University of North Texas. I find myself as someone easy to talk to with other, I'm a people person. I use my time wisely when I am not doing school work. I like to be very organized, especially during the school year when it comes to school work or with the organizations that I'm a part of. I'm aiming to graduate in the fall of 2016 with my Bachelors in Business Administration.
Experience
In high school I was a part of the Eagle Depot Tutoring club where I taught a subject that I did well in. I taught International Baccalaureate Mathematics Standard Level on a weekly basis with a student who came to me struggling but at the end finished understanding the course very well. Since then I haven't found many opportunities to have the chance to tutor again after coming into college.
Approach
When I was tutoring in high school I learned that the best method of teaching my peers was starting from the basics. Sometimes my peers would get annoyed at me for starting from the "easy" stuff, but I find it really helpful to teach this way because if you don't understand the basics it will be hard to go up from there. I don't want to teach my students to just figure out the answer but why that's the answer and how they got to it.

Pre Algebra Tutoring
I believe I am suitable to tutor in this subject because when I took it in middle school, at my school district we take it in middle school, I flew through the class in flying colors. I did very well on all of my exams and I even tutored my brother in the same course the following year as he is a year younger than me. I really have a passion for math and numbers which is why I decided to study in decision science, to get a better understanding about the statistical and management side of business.
Algebra Tutoring
I believe that I am capable of teaching middle school algebra because I went through it myself. In college I have utilized my algebraic skills throughout my business courses over the past 2 years. This semester I am taking my third statistics course, I have a love and passion to learn math, any subject, as well as study it.
Math Tutoring
I believe that I am qualified to tutor in general middle school math because I went through it myself years ago and I took advanced mathematics courses in high school and have gone through general business mathematics as well as business calculus. Where I learned to apply mathematics to the business world.
Middle School Math Tutoring
At my school district when I was in middle school we would take pre-algebra in 7th grade then algebra 1 in 8th grade if you were ahead of the game, which is what I did. I really love the idea of math being applied in the real world, especially the statistical side, which is the reason I am majoring in decision science.
Elementary Math Tutoring
When I was in high school my mom used to babysit one of her friend's sons, sometimes she would pick him up from our house after dinner, almost bed time. So he would do his homework at our house while he waited for his mom. I remember he struggled in math a little bit, being in second grade, I knew I couldn't teach him the way my teacher's in high school were teaching my pre-cal. So I would break down addition, subtraction, multiplitcation, and division to where a 2nd grader or any elementary school could understand and comprehend what I was teaching them. I remember I would use fruits to cookies to help them understand exactly what was happening. I think it is important to break down the factors for everyone to understand because no everyone understands everything at the same level.
