One of my greatest joys in life is country-western dancing. A good line dance, two-step, or west-coast swing will always put me in a good mood! I also love drinking chocolate milk, playing my ukulele, eating tortellini, and playing with puppies.
About Me
I grew up in a military family and finally settled in the great state of Arizona in my teenage years. Today I attend Arizona State University with my husband and am studying Chemistry and Education. In the next few years I hope to move on to graduate school and then become a high school chemistry teacher.
During high school, I often served as the go-to friend when it came to homework-help. My senior year I was chosen to be a peer-phoenix">tutor for struggling math students in a specially-designed geometry class. That experience helped me find my love for teaching and phoenix">tutoring. During my sophomore year of college I decided to put that love for phoenix">tutoring into action and worked as a math and chemistry phoenix">tutor at a community college. I'm looking forward to my future as a frog phoenix">tutor, and life-long teacher and mentor.
My main phoenix">tutoring approach involves instilling confidence. My philosophy is that if the student has confidence in their own abilities, then they will have what it takes to succeed. I try to help students accomplish this by emphasizing the importance of practice. Practice makes perfect--when the student has successfully practiced solving problems at home and in their homework assignments, they will have the confidence they need on their tests when faced with similar problems. However, I not only hope to instill confidence in my students for their next test, but also for their entire academic future and beyond.
