Fun Facts
Before getting involved in the world of teaching, I used to teach dance to 5-10 year olds. Dance used to be a huge part of my life from when I was 4 years old till I was 19. Without dance, I would have never really been given the opportunity to claim teaching as my career path!
About Me
I am a 2011 fall graduate from Texas Tech University! I was on Dean’s List for 2 years, and graduated Magna Cum Laude! I am also currently attending the University of Texas at San Antonio to complete a master’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education with a focus on leadership and advocacy.
During my classes at Tech, I was exposed to many different classrooms, and received the best qualified learning tools needed to succeed as a teacher. I have also recieved my teaching certifications such as EC-6 Generalist, PPR, and ESL. Since graduation, I have been working in the NISD district as an elementary school substitute. I have been exposed to many different experiences in the elementary school systems and have had many great opportunities to work with different schools, classes, and teachers.
Being a part of the teaching community I understand that every child is different, therefore every child learns differently. Since working with a number of different students in the elementary school system, I know that the value of how a subject is presented, how its reinforced, and how it’s related to the child’s real world is one of the best strategies to help a student succeed in the understanding of the curriculum. This is one of the teaching/tutoring outlooks I use to help my students learn.
