Fun Facts

One thing that people find interesting about me is that I'm a rock climber; I travel to cliffs around the country with the aim of conquering a hundred foot vertical slab of rock. It's something that sounds terrifying to most people, but I absolutely love it. There's nothing better than the serene quietude of the outdoors interrupted only by the sound of clipping the climbing rope into the bolted protection on the cliff face.

About Me

I am currently an undergraduate at the chicago">University of Chicago studying English and Philosophy. When I graduate I plan to become a teacher, but I want to travel the world to do it. This way, I get to continue to follow my passion for education while also satisfying my desire to travel and my love of the outdoors.

My first job was as a teaching aide at the elementary school I attended as a child. After that, I knew I didn’t need to explore any other career path: teaching was for me. When I left for college I continued to pursue my passion for teaching by volunteering for an after-school program that provides homework help to underprivileged neighborhood children and by working for Frog chicago">Tutoring.

“Knowledge is the food of the soul” -Plato
This is something I believe in whole-heartedly. I feel that it is my job as a chicago">tutor to instill a hunger for learning in the souls of those I teach. By questioning and guiding, and not by simply giving the correct answers, I allow my students to experience the joy of discovery, and it is this joy, I believe that drives the hunger for knowledge that the most esteemed thinkers of the past and of the present have so treasured. A love of learning is something that not only makes current coursework more enjoyable for the students, but is also something that pushes you to question, challenge, and try to understand the world around you; it provides the foundation for a meaningful life.
