Fun Facts
I enjoy learning all the time. Be it from my college professors or someone too younger than me, I always look to learn different perspectives from people around me. I enjoy singing a lot, play badminton and cricket, love to travel and love reading about current affairs. On my wishlist is to learn photography, how to play a synthesizer and learn salsa so that I cam impress my wife with a surprise on her birthday :)
About Me
I recently graduated from the University of Minnesota, where I was pursuing a MS in Financial Mathematics program. I also hold an MBA degree, hold a diploma in International Marketing and am a Physics undergrad. I have worked for c.5 years in primarily financial research and my ultimate goal would be to be at the Reserve Bank of India (a sort of Indian Federal organization) at a decision making position.
Experience
Although I must admit that I do not have any formal teaching or tutoring experience at a school or a college, but at my workplace I trained and mentored at least 2 new employees who were 7-8 years younger than me. I have lived in the company of teachers all through my life: my mother was a music teacher and served for c.38 years in that capacity and my wife was a French teacher at a school in India.
Approach
When I was in school, I used to study from my father till class 8th. I must admit that I was a bit scared of him because of he manner in which he used to impart knowledge until I found a tutor who changed my life completely. With him, I suddenly found that maths is not as scary as it looks like and real-life examples can actually make learning fun.
