Fun Facts

One trait that makes me different from other people is that I love to read. It doesn’t matter what genre! There is nothing I love more than curling up with a good book! I also enjoy working with children of all ages. At the moment I teach swimming lessons with kids from 6 months to 13 years old. I enjoy a challenge.

About Me

I recently graduated Magna Cume Laude in May of 2012 from The University of Texas San Antonio with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies. I took my state exams and I am certified to teach prek-6th grade. I hope to become a full time elementary school teacher in the near future.

As an education major I have had various opportunities to work with children. Only including last semester I have spent over 100 hours in the classroom teaching all subjects and developing engaging lessons for 24 students. I love creating lessons that are hands on and appealing to the different types of learners. Frog Tutoring offers me the chance to apply my new knowledge to more children.

My tutoring approach is the same as my teaching approach. I believe that all students are special and unique in their own way. Every child is different, therefore it is important to treat them as such. Each child learns differently so it is the teachers’ job to make sure and include differentiation in their lessons and activities. Learning should be more hands on than lecture based. Games, interesting videos, music, technology, and arts and crafts can all be incorporated to make learning enjoyable. Students should be excited to learn new material. I have always loved school. It is my goal to instill a love for learning and make a positive difference in a child’s life.
