Fun Facts

Since the age of 11 I have played the oboe, a double reed musical instrument. In addition, I play the piano and received my undergraduate degree in both oboe performance and music education. I was a teacher for 1 1/2 years with my certification from the state of Florida. My hobbies include sewing, crafting, and scuba diving. I enjoy trying everything at least once; I was an umpire for little league baseball for a year and always look for new things to do.

About Me

I am in my second year of graduate work at GWU working on my Masters in Criminology. I have always earned high grades and worked very hard to receive them. My career goal is to work in intelligence within the federal government.

My undergraduate degree was received from Stetson University in music and education. Earning a degree in education has allowed me to learn several different ways to teach students no matter the background. During my year and a half as a teacher I taught all grades including music and art. I have taught all levels of students such as students with severe emotional issues and those whose first language was not english.

During my time as a teacher I learned how to adapt to learning styles of students. While my own style is to learn by listening, other students may need to be shown. I find that personal anecdotes to relate students to the learning works to connect the student with their subjects. orlando">Tutoring should be fun and looked forward to, not something that a student dreads. I try to make learning as fun as possible.
