Fun Facts

I enjoy learning about different cultures and world history. I have played the violin for 15 years and can sing in multiple languages: Arabic, Spanish, Turkish and Persian! I participate in Model United Nations conferences in order to stay up-to-date with current events.

About Me

I am a double major in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic Language & Literature at the University of Texas at Austin. I am part of the Arabic Flagship Program and will study in Alexandria, Egypt after I graduate. I aspire to utilize my understanding of world politics and history and my Arabic capabilities to pursue work in foreign affairs.

I began houston">tutoring as a middle school student by helping with a reading program at a local elementary school. In high school I began houston">tutoring ESL students and became hooked on seeing the "light bulb go off" in their eyes. I spent the past two summers serving in AmeriCorps by teaching summer enrichment programs at local schools and community centers in Houston, TX.

I truly enjoy working with children and helping them discover their best learning method. I believe in aiding the student in understanding their thinking process and how to make their own conclusions based on their own knowledge and practice. I think there are many different tools and methods available to students and I want to ensure they utilize these tools available to them.
