Fun Facts
I am the oldest of 3 children. I love to read and complete puzzles in my free time. I grew up in North Carolina and moved to Texas in 2014 with my husband and son.
About Me
I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2006 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I completed an add-on to my teaching license in 2011 leading to a certification in K-12 Special Education.
Experience
I worked for the past 9 years as a teacher. 4 years were in a Pre-K setting while the other 5 were in a Pre-K through 8th grade school. I taught the core subjects (reading, math, science, social studies, and writing). I tutored family members outside of school hours.
Approach
As a child I was fortunate enough to have teachers who believed in my abilities and pushed me to do my best. They encouraged, tutored, and supported me through any academic difficulties I faced. I would like the opportunity to be that support to current students.
