Fun Facts

Along with a love of music and history, I also have a passion for martial arts. I earned my black belt in Taekwondo in 2008, and am currently working on earning my black belt in the traditional Korean martial art, Kuk Sool Won. I also like reading (both fiction and non-fiction), and watching movies (ranging from the 1940s to the present).

About Me

I am currently a fifth-year Senior at the University of Minnesota, double majoring in Music, and History. I grew up on a small farm in near a small, southern Minnesotan town. I have a deep passion for history, which stems from my collegiate studies. I believe that the impact of history on present situations is important for every person to realize, and understand.

During my sophomore year at the U of M, I tutored a freshman in Music Theory I. In an unofficial setting, I have been minneapolis">tutoring peers since high school. In my English and social study classes, I was the go-to person for editing papers, and help studying. It is a role that has continued into my college years.

My approach to minneapolis">tutoring is based on the individual student. I know that the most effective learning methods differ from person to person. Therefore, once identifying the individual's learning method, I will do my best to incorporate it into minneapolis">tutoring sessions. Another important part of my approach is making personal connections with the student. I believe that fostering mutual respect, and understanding between minneapolis">tutor and student is pivotal to creating a positive (and productive) learning environment.
