Fun Facts

I have a twin sister who is my best friend. I am married to Zach, a music teacher, and we like to sing together all the time. We are proud to be solfege-loving "choir dorks." I love to bake and cook (and eat, of course!) I actually enjoy cleaning and organizing. I have visited England, France, Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea, but I'm eager to explore many more countries in the future. I love math and music. My latest addiction is Pinterest :).

About Me

I am originally from Michigan and have most recently lived in College Station before moving to Austin this summer. After almost pursuing a math degree, I studied music at wheaton-college">Wheaton College and graduated in December 2010. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in musicology at the University of Texas. I hope to eventually earn my doctorate in the field and make teaching music my career.

I have spent the past two years working with students in a variety of capacities. In addition to austin">tutoring several classmates throughout college, I have spent time substitute teaching, mentoring African refugee children, teaching five homeschooled students, teaching musicals to a group of 17 little ones, and running an after-school program at a private school. I am excited to begin austin">tutoring with your child!

I have specifically chosen to work in areas that I not only am able to teach, but that I am also passionate about. I hope to spark that passion for learning in your child as well. I believe that success is not possible without self-motivation, so my goal is to get your child on-board and excited about the content they are learning (even if it's math)!
