Fun Facts
I am originally from Austin, Texas. I played select soccer through the 8th grade and also played volleyball in middle school. I have 2 brothers and am the middle child! And I am also a fairly good artist with drawing being my specialty!
About Me
I am a graduate of The University of Texas at San Antonio with a bachelors in Psychology. I have several years experience in teaching/tutoring ages 1-10. I also have experience with children who have autism and related disorders, as a behavior therapist. My approach when it comes to tutoring involves being an active listener, adaptive and positively reinforcing. I am very patient and dedicated to helping the students I tutor succeed with confidence.
Experience
My experience with tutoring includes my work as a behavior interventionist/tutor. For that position, I work with children who have autism and other disorders providing them with academic skills, self-help skills and coping skills for negative behaviors. This position has taught me that everyone learns in a different way and with consistency and focus, anyone can meet their goals.
Approach
I believe that tutoring and mentoring go hand in hand. In order for a student to learn the best, it is important for the tutor to form and maintain a positive relationship with the student. I also feel that encouragement and repetition are a few of the most important factors that lead to a student’s success.
