Fun Facts

I have been bowling for almost 15 years and bowl every Sunday night in a league. I have only recently been out of the Eastern time zone while traveling to Costa Rica and the Caribbean. I listen to some sort of music every day, or else my day just doesn't feel complete. I am the proud mother of a three-year-old chinchilla named Aristotle.

About Me

I am extremely hard-working and self-motivated, both in and outside the classroom. I have an Associate in Science from monroe">Monroe Community College in rochester">Rochester, NY with an honors concentration. In 2010 I received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the rochester">rochester">University of rochester">Rochester with a minor in Psychology. I am currently enrolled at carroll-university">John carroll-university">Carroll University, on track to receive a Master of Science in Biology in January 2013. Upon graduation, I plan to attend Case Western Reserve University to obtain a Ph.D. in Biology to eventually teach Biology at the collegiate level.

At the rochester">rochester">University of rochester">Rochester, I have three semesters' experience as an undergraduate teaching assistant for Calculus II, in which I led my own recitations of 4-12 students and wrote weekly quizzes. At carroll-university">John carroll-university">Carroll University, I have two semesters' experience as a graduate teaching assistant for Biology I and II (one semester each), in which I helped lead laboratory classes of up to 24 students. Here, I worked hands-on and one-on-one with students to reinforce material covered in lecture, and offered different strategies in how to master concepts.

Having been a student for the past 20 years, I completely understand how frustrating it can be when a teacher does not fully explain a topic or rushes through an important concept. These reasons, among others, are why columbus">tutors can be so critical to help a student succeed in the classroom. Sometimes all it takes is practice and reinforcement for a student to excel in a subject, which is my goal and the goal of all Frog columbus">Tutors.
