Fun Facts
Fun fact about me is that I love to dance. I enjoy learning different styles of dance such as salsa, merengue, dancehall, hip hop and more. During my undergraduate years, I was able to combine my passions of dance and fitness and teach Zumba. I hope to start teaching in Boston very soon. Another fun fact is that I attended a French school
About Me
Currently, I am first year graduate student at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health pursuing a masters in Biostatistics. I graduated from Cornell (undergrad) in 2014 with a major in Biometry and Statistics. My goal is work as a statistician at a research hospital or the government (i.e. FDA, CDC etc.).
Experience
I've spent several summers mentoring and teaching students in the U.S. and abroad. As a volunteer, I taught English, French and Math to students in Panama at La Casa Esperanza, an after-school center for low-income families. In addition, as a teen camp counselor I spent my time advising students on the college application process. I enjoy communicating to others the skills and knowledge acquired throughout my academic and personal experiences.
Approach
As a teenager, I was fortunate to have a tutor help me through subjects I struggled with. Throughout that time, I realized that any child can understand the material presented by his/her teacher. However, the fashion in which the child receives the information is crucial to his/her success. As a tutor, I aim to uniquely convey concepts and ideas to a student and ensure their understanding of the subject.
