I have a strong desire to see as much of the world as I can and take advantage of every day. I love to travel, trying new types of food/experiences, and exercising!
About Me
I recently moved to Boston from Florida to pursue my first job as a pediatric speech language pathologist. I attended University of Florida for my undergraduate degree and Florida State University for my masters degree.
Experience
I have experience working with children since high school (babysitting, working, and tutoring), and have worked with children with special needs for 6 years. I have experience working with children with autism, ADD, ADHD, language based learning disability, Fragile X, Down Syndrome, and dyslexia. I have tutored a middle school child in the areas of study skills, math, and reading, and have experience in reading comprehension instruction as a speech language pathologist.
Approach
I like to provide my students with an environment in which they are motivated and encouraged to work to their full potential. By giving my students the power of their own success, I find that it promotes hard work and dedication towards self-improvement. I also enjoy providing a hands-on approach to tutoring - if my student is reading a book at school, I will also read that book and gain their full perspective.
