Fun Facts

I am an avid reader, and I love everything that is related to art, writing, and nature as well. I still recall attempting to write my very first poem at the ripe age of seven with little success! I can still remember some lines of this poem because it was dedicated to my father whom I was very close to. I still enjoy writing poetry for leisure, I enjoy reading it and many other types of great works as well. Additionally, I love to draw and paint and have had the privilege of taking many art

About Me

I am currently a student at the University of the Incarnate Word, and am approximating completion of my program in just a few short weeks! My major is in Psychology and my minor in Sociology. Both are subjects that inspire deep interest for me. I am fascinated with learning about human nature and human behavior. I believe that gaining a thorough understanding of this can enable me to help others perform at their best in their educational endeavors and can help me as well.

I have been employed with NISD in San Antonio for approximately two years as a paraprofessional. As a paraprofessional, I have had many opportunities to work with diverse clientele to include children ranging in grades, pre-k through high school and of all educational needs. I have assisted students in a wide range of subjects as well.

My tutoring approach consists of initially assessing the student's strengths and weaknesses and pinpointing how they learn best. Many students are more visual while others more tactile and etc. After this determination is made, I will tailor the lesson plan to best suit the needs of the student and therefore enhance their comprehension level and confidence.
