I love to go to theme parks, I love to make greeting cards and I love to watch movies; I'm a total movie buff. I love to try new things and I think this fall I'm going to try to learn how to bake, I want to learn to make the ultimate red velvet cake, yum!

About Me

I am a senior Medical student at Howard University College of Medicine and I am currently in the process of applying to residency training. I grew up in an underserved population and plan to practice in an underserved area. I have a passion for educating my patients about how they can improve their health and understand the importance of developing a good working relationship based on trust and a common goal.

As an undergraduate student I was a washington-dc">tutor hired by the university. I tutored a wide variety of subjects, mostly the sciences and found that I really enjoyed helping students understand science. I also served as a washington-dc">tutor/mentor as a part of a program called the Health Careers Opportunity Program here at Howard during the summer of my freshmen year of medical school. During that program I served as a teacher's aide, washington-dc">tutoring the students, helping them to establish good study and note-taking skills as well as provided career counseling and reviewing personal statements and other application materials for the students applying to medical and dental school. I found both these experiences extremely rewarding and have always felt it is important to help others navigate through the educational process and look forward to doing that through the services provided by Frog washington-dc">Tutoring.

Throughout the years from personal experience as well as from my washington-dc">tutoring experience, I've learned that different learning styles work well for different people. I am an audiovisual learner and learned this after experimenting with many different learning styles. I am also aware of the fact that a person's dominant learning style may have to be adjusted to deal with different subjects, for example an audiovisual learner will do well in Anatomy but may need to make adjustments in subjects such as Microbiology or Physics where concepts are not plainly visible. Through my personal experiences with this process I believe I can help my students find their learning style.
