Fun Facts

One of my passions is learning to dance Latin and Ballroom dancing recently I have learned Salsa! I used to be part of the West Lawn gymnastics team in my neighborhood for five years winning a total of fifteen metals. I love biking long distances; my longest distance was from Midway Airport to DePaul University's Lincoln Park Campus; my greatest achievement so far!

About Me

I am the oldest of my siblings and a first generation college student in my family. At DePaul University I am majoring in Biology in the hopes of going to medical school. I find the medical field extremely fascinating and thinking of becoming a pathologist.

My most recent chicago">tutoring and mentoring experience is last year when I worked as a Corps member for Jumpstart at DePaul University helping preschoolers ages three to five acquire early literacy skills and build their other skills so that they are able to succeed in their future education. While attending Hubbard High School I was a peer chicago">tutor for all four years and a mentor for one year because I was a part of the National Honors Society and the International Baccalaureate Program and we had to complete a certain amount of community service hours.

Making small goals is my first step to my chicago">tutoring approach; this way students are able to accomplish these goals and overall succeed in the larger goal. Keeping organized and planning ahead is very key so that I personally or anyone else I chicago">tutor won't fall behind in studying. I try to explain and present the material in various ways so that the people I am chicago">tutoring are able to understand since humans are all different we all learn differently. Keeping a positive attitude is also very important to keep in mind since becoming frustrated with the material will not take you forward.
