Fun Facts

I was in the circus. I love skateboarding, skiing, scuba diving, puzzles\riddles, backpacking\hiking and watching movies. I just finished backpacking in New Zealand for three weeks. I really enjoy talking about philosophy and anything to do with J.R.R. Tolkein. I love finding out what people are interested in and learning about it from them.

About Me

I am 24 years old, born and raised in Boston MA. I have a B.A. in physics and a B.A. in mathematics. I have published work in the field of mathematical general relativity. I was on the dean's list every semester and maintained a strong GPA and understanding of the material. Physics and math are my main academic passions. I believe that math and physics are beautiful and creative pursuits and I find it extremely rewarding and exciting to help people see the beauty and fun in these subjects.

Experience

I was a SAAB tutor at Lewis and Clark, and have been helping students of all ages with many levels of math and physics for some time now. I have extensive experience teaching people to juggle, breathe fire, do gymnastics and other circus arts.

Approach

My approach boils down to strict avoidance of plug and chug style teaching/learning. I believe that math and physics are beautiful, fun and rewarding disciplines and people interested in them should get to experience this.
I like to talk to students and find out what they are excited about in math/physics and life in general. That way I can guide them through the material in a way that highlights these aspects and draws on natural curiosity and interest.
