Fun Facts

Upon meeting me, people promptly discover my passion for the game of basketball. Whether I am playing or watching on TV, I devote a lot of my free time towards basketball. I was born and raised on the Navajo reservation in Northern Arizona, where I lived until the age of eleven. I am fluent in Spanish, and I really enjoy speaking to other speakers whenever I can. I am also an avid snowboarder, and I enjoy going to Mount Hood Meadows in the winter when I have free time.

About Me

I recently graduated from Lewis & Clark College with a degree in biology. Before coming to Portland, I graduated from high school in Flagstaff, Arizona where I was on the honor roll and received recognition for my community service efforts. In 2017, I spent a semester studying abroad in Ecuador, where I attended school and worked on my Spanish fluency. I am currently working towards applying to Physician's Assistant school to work towards my ultimate goal of becoming a PA in Orthopedic Surgery.

Experience

Working with National Honors Society, I have spent time tutoring kids at several different elementary schools in my hometown of Flagstaff. I also had the opportunity to work with young students while studying abroad in Ecuador. Since coming to Portland, I have been eager to reignite this habit of influencing the lives of young students in my community. Working with FrogTutoring tutoring gives me the opportunity to do just that!

Approach

My tutoring approach is centered around creating an enjoyable way for the student to learn the content. I try to teach in a way where I help the student to develop good study habits that will prove to be beneficial for years to come. I do this not by simply lecturing the student, but by creating a work environment where the student feels comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I feel strongly that learning from your own mistakes is the best way to understand challenging new concepts.
