Fun Facts
I love the outdoors and music. I am a DJ for University of Portland's radio station, KDUP. And I am constantly on the look out for new music. I also try and get outdoors at least once a week, and I have planned several backpacking trips for this upcoming summer. I also love skiing and if it's snowing, I am up at the mountain.
About Me
I am a sophomore Biology major and a Women and Gender Studies minor at the University of Portland. I am in the Honor's program and have been on the Dean's list for two years now. After graduating I plan on either going to school to become a Certified Midwife, or going to medical school to become an OBGYN.
Experience
In high school I was in the National Honor Society and so I helped tutor students once a week in whatever subject they needed help in. My senior year of high school I also volunteered at a local elementary school in their art class. I am also currently a tutor employed by the University of Portland for introduction Biology courses.
Approach
I believe that to succeed means something different for each person and I strive to help other students find excitement about learning. I also think that each student has to find their own motivation, but I am here to encourage them to do their best and to help them understand that they are capable and can achieve their goals. I strive to help students to become active learners.

Biology
Anatomy Physiology I Tutoring
In high school I took a year of Anatomy and Physiology. In college I have taken a semester of Anatomy, and I am currently in a semester for Physiology. I am also currently in the Advanced Anatomy Dissection course at the University of Portland. I received an A in these courses. I am also on the road to become a Teacher's Assistant in the Anatomy Labs.
Biology I Tutoring
In high school I took two years of Biology. I have also taken a full year of general Biology courses at the college level, while receiving A's in these courses. I am also currently a Biology tutor for the University of Portland.
Biology II Tutoring
In high school I took two years of Biology. I have also taken a full year of general Biology courses at the college level, while receiving A's in these courses. I am also currently a Biology tutor for the University of Portland.
Study Skills Tutoring
I always strive for the best that I can do in all of my classes, and do so I have developed many study skills that I utilize for each subject to succeed in them. As a paid tutor for the university, I have also gone through trainings identifying different study skills that students can use to help them become successful in their classes.
Biology Tutoring
I took two years of biology in high school, the introductory course and AP Biology. I have also taken two semesters of introductory Biology courses at my university. I am also a current Biology tutor at the University of Portland. I received an A every year of Biology
Biology AP Tutoring
I took AP Biology my Junior year of high school and received a four after taking the exam. I am also a biology major and have taken two semesters of Biology courses at the college level. I am also a current tutor for Biology for the University of Portland
Chemistry Tutoring
I took a year of chemistry in high school. I have also taken a year of general chemistry at the University of Portland. I received an A in each of these classes.
English Tutoring
I have taken college English courses since my Junior year of high school. In high school I received A's in every class I took, and I have also gotten A's during the semester I took English at the University of Portland.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
While reading comprehension is never specifically tested or taught as a class in school, if someone doesn't have reading comprehension then, at least in college, they wouldn't pass their classes. I have read up to 12 books in one semester, not including online readings. These readings are consistently quizzed and tested on. I am qualified for this as I have gotten almost all A's in all of my college courses, and most of this material is learned off assigned weekly readings.
Science Tutoring
I have taken at two science classes every semester of college and through every year of high school. While I haven't taken all of them (Physics) I understand how to study for the sciences and I know how much work every science requires to succeed.
Math Tutoring
The last math class that I took was Calculus 2. I received an A in this class. I have a year of experience tutoring elementary age students.
Arts Tutoring
I have taken an art class every year since I started school, and my most recent class covered some art history along with key aspects to each form of art. I also have a year of experience helping teach art to students.
