Fun Facts

I come from a huge family where I grew up with two older brothers, a younger sister and two younger brothers. I also have about twenty-three cousins. I am the first in my family to attend college and I love Saint Louis University. My family always made serving one another a huge deal and I still carry that same passion. I am currently employed full-time at a crime victim advocacy agency in St. Louis and am attending graduate school.

About Me

I studied at Saint Louis University where I pursued Criminal Justice and Psychology as a double major. I graduates in May 2013. . I am currently employed full-time at a crime victim advocacy agency in St. Louis and am attending graduate school.

As a student at SLU I had the opportunity to tutor at several different schools in the community. In the past, I have tutored and done after school program coordination at Cote Brilliante. I have also been involved in tutoring at De La Salle Middle School and third graders at Peabody Elementary School on Reading Comprehension. Most of the students that I work with at Peabody are minorities who are at least two years behind on their reading skills.

My approach to tutoring consists of: a real relationship with the student, a discovery of the strengths and weaknesses and a game plan to strengthen the weaknesses and exercise the strengths. I believe that every child is unique and has a specific style and approach to learning. My goal is to help a student understand their strengths and weaknesses and how to work with them toward and achieve success even when faced with hardships.
