Fun Facts
I am from Denver, Colorado and because of this I love to be outdoors. I have grown up near the mountains and have had the luxury of going hiking or skiing whenever I want. This has made me into the adventurous person I am today. I chose to come to TCU because my older brother goes here and I saw how much he loved it that I couldn't imagine myself anywhere else.
About Me
I am a freshman Strategic Communications major with a minor in Psychology of Leadership at Texas Christian University. After my first semester here at TCU, I have a 4.0. I am a member of the John V. Roach Honors college! After I graduate I am hoping to work for an advertising agency on Madison Avenue in New York. If this plan doesn't work out I would love to work for a nonprofit back in Denver so I can be close to my family.
Experience
I volunteered for a non profit all throughout high school that offered an intensive summer school and Saturday school program for highly motivated but under resourced middle school students. Through this program I both taught and individually tutored middle school students in all subject areas. In high school and college I have helped my friends and classmates succeed in classes by helping them study for tests and assignments. I also LOVE to proof read and edit people's papers.
Approach
I have both tutored and been tutored so I understand both sides of the relationship and what works and doesn't work. As a tutor, I like to bring in real life examples and relate the material back to their lives to help students learn. My goal is not only to help students pass a class but to help them really understand the material and become a lifelong learner.

Strategic Communication
Writing Tutoring
I have taken numerous Writing classes both in high school and during my time a college. I am currently in a Writing and Editing class which focuses on Writing in the PR and Advertising business. Nonetheless this class has helped me grow as a writer and learn more about AP Style writing. I have tutored kids in writing by editing their papers, and helping them develop their writing styles.
AP History Tutoring
I took both AP European History and AP U.S. History in high school. I have a lot of knowledge on these subjects and can help students prepare for the AP test as well as get a good grade in the class
English Tutoring
I have always loved English and am really good at developing essays based on readings. I have helped students in the past learn how to actively annotate read books and other reading materials. In order to receive a degree in Communications one has to be skilled in both reading and writing.
Homework Coach Tutoring
I went to a rigorous high school that gave us on average 3 hours of homework a night. Due to this I have developed strong homework habits and strategies to tackle it.
Psychology Tutoring
I took Psychology in high school and college. My minor is in Psychology of Leadership and I find it a very interesting subject. This passion I have to Psychology allows me to teach it effectively and convey the same excitement.
Study Skills Tutoring
Throughout my years in school I have developed very strong and consistent study skills using various tools. Since I have explored many different approaches to studying I know what tends to work best for different subjects.
History Tutoring
I have taken various history courses throughout my schooling and enjoyed all of them. I have helped middle school students understand history facts and the logic behind those facts.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I love to read! I can help in tutoring someone in how to read, how to read quicker, and the most effective ways of retaining information while you read.
Science Tutoring
I have taken: Earth Science, Biology, Geography, Physics, Microbiology, and Chemistry. Thus, I have a well rounded view and understanding of science. My strongest science subject is biology then chemistry.
Environmental Science Tutoring
I took Environmental Science last semester with Professor Slattery and really enjoyed it. I ended the semester with an A in the class and would love to help anyone who is struggling. I helped many of my classmates study and pass the class last semester.
