Fun Facts
I am someone who really enjoys sports! Basketball and American Football are my two favorite sports. I also enjoy watching TV shows, reading a good book, and keeping up with current events. I thoroughly enjoy many different types of music and often find myself listening to music any chance I can.
About Me
I am currently enrolled in a dual masters track at Florida International University. I am in the process of completing my Mental Health Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling degrees. I am currently a member of the Counseling National Honors Society and hope to work as a counselor with people with disabilities. I truly enjoy being able to facilitate others to succeed and on a lighter note, I simply enjoy having a good conversation.
Experience
I have many different experiences working with various populations as a Counselor in Training. These experiences have helped me to adapt in various situations.. Working at Switchboard of Miami, I developed the ability to stay calm in a crisis situation due to the fact that I spent many hours working as a counselor for the Veterans Crisis Line and Lifeline. I feel that my calm demeanor would translate well with people that need to begin the process of figuring out how to stay on task with work.
Approach
Growing up as a child with two disabilities, I always had to find adaptive methods in order to succeed. I was fortunate to consistently have teachers throughout my elementary, middle, and high school career that believed in my potential. As a tutor, I would bring a patient and adaptive style so that those who are motivated to succeed can live up to their fullest potential. My approach would center on a collaborative effort between both individuals.

MastersEnglish Tutoring
As an undergraduate, I took various English courses due to the fact that English was one of my Majors in my undergraduate career. I have always been portrayed as a good writer by my professors. Moreover, my friends continue to come to me to edit papers and I can usually provide great feedback and suggestions in many situations.
Political Science Tutoring
political Science was one of my two majors in my undergraduate career. Most of the classes, such as Constitutional Law, require a high level of organizational skills. As a tutor, I would try to help clients to logically piece together theories and cases.

The Political Science and English majors that I have acquired have allowed me to read a numerous amount of books and articles. My high-school SAT scores ranked me among the top of my peers and can give a quantifiable argument to my qualification in this subject.
Study Skills Tutoring
My counseling background can act as a useful tool in this subject area. I will approach each person with every intention of helping them succeed by helping to increase organization and goal setting skills.
Writing Tutoring
I am continuously writing papers and have always enjoyed writing. Throughout my lifetime, I have mostly maintained an A to B range in the papers that I have written, depending on the level of effort that I have put into each paper.
AP English Tutoring
As an undergraduate at Florida International University, I was able to earn a double major in Political Science and English. Both of these majors included extensive writing. Classes such as Constitutional Law and American Literature helped me to refine me skills as a speaker and writer.
Homework Coach Tutoring
Finishing assignments requires a certain level of organization and motivation. I believe that my continuous growth in the Counseling field can help to create a sense of patience, as well as an attitude that is devoid of judgement.
Spanish I Tutoring
I believe I have the necessary skills to succeed in this subject. I speak fluent Spanish, but I also took a refresher course in my undergraduate years of university.
Writing Advance Tutoring
I believe that a great writer does not need to become a walking thesaurus. Instead, teachers are looking for the usage of proper grammar rather than the use of an extensive vocabulary. I know this because I consistently maintained grades ranging from A to B on my papers in high-school, undergraduate, and graduate schooling. In an optimal world, it would be beneficial for a writer to read as much as he or she can, in order to continuously improve on acquiring new vocabulary skills.
Microsoft Word Tutoring
I have used many different pieces of technology throughout my life, but as I entered high-school I continued to use Microsoft word. I have always managed to score high on various computer literacy tests that I have taken over my lifetime. Simply put, without Microsoft Word, I could not succeed in my everyday life.
