Fun Facts

People I meet quickly know how much I enjoy the arts. Especially, film and music. Both can tell an amazing array of stories, and relate a wide range of emotions. Ever wonder who watches DVD featurettes on the production process of a film? That’s me! I study humanistic philosophy, and live the principles it prescribes: kindness, compassion and strength of character. I bring those qualities to my work.

About Me

I grew up in the L.A. suburbs, with a family that emphasized the important value of education. Both my sister and I attended college. I took honors/AP classes in high school, and received good grades. I have an endless curiosity about human behavior, which led me to major in Sociology at UCLA. Currently, I am developing an organization that guides people to create harmony between their own heart and mind, to achieve optimum happiness in their life.

Experience

Along with my major in sociology, at UCLA, I also studied history. I am fascinated with various aspects that influenced how we got to our present state of life. As I raised my son, I instilled the value of not only learning the mechanics of reading and writing, but also his responsibility in doing and submitting assignments on time. Learning is not just about spelling, punctuation, and grammar. It is the first job children have in their lives. The overall learning experience teaches respect, communication, teamwork, and personal responsibility.

Approach

My approach is patient and relaxed. I like to know what interests the learner, because it helps to use examples of what they can relate to. Some students learn more visually so, it might help to use a drawing or diagram to show how things connect. I can easily change my style to fit the learner. I take the process of learning seriously, but I can inject some humor if it helps the student relax and think better. Everyone learns differently. I respect that.
