Fun Facts
My family is Chilean, therefore, I moved a lot during my formative years back and forth between Chile and the Unites States. Consequently, I ended up attending 10 different schools between the 2nd and 11th grade. I love meeting new people, traveling, and learning about different cultures. I love soccer, arcade games and all things competitive!
About Me
One of seven children, Duke graduate and Brown University researcher, I hope to someday pursue a Masters degree and become a clinical child psychologist! At the Brown Center for Children and Families at Risk, I help do research on maternal depression and autism.
Experience
During my high school years, I accumulated over 800 volunteer hours by shadowing English teachers in rural schools in Chile. I have played with children in hospital settings, volunteered to promote outdoor initiatives for kids, and collaborated on the creation of an after-school program in Durham, NC. I, therefore, believe I will be able to adapt to your home's needs!
Approach
As a kid, I would attend school in the summer in Chile. Due to this, and the many different schools I attended, I believe I have able to experience different teaching methodologies. However, as a constant tutor to my younger 10-year-old sister, 17-year-old brother, and 21-year-old twin sisters, I have learned that patience and preparation tend to be the best strategy, regardless of the subject material or tutee.
