Fun Facts

I absolutely love the sports of tennis and football. On any given sunny day, you'll see me on the courts! I also have a younger sister who is adopted from China.

About Me

I'm a graduate of both College of Charleston and Wake Forest University. My degrees are in Finance, Business Administration, Taxation, and Biochemistry. I only require the work requirements in order to earn my CPA license in the state of Georgia. Until then, I hope to grow further my career in International Taxation here in Atlanta.

Experience

I have been tutoring since my years in high school, but my most challenging experience to date was teaching General and Organic Chemistry at Wake Forest University last year.

At the College of Charleston, I did tutoring through the Center of Student Learning, where I helped run the Science Learning Lab and had one-on-one sessions. Those one-on-ones ranged from teaching physics to micro- and macroeconomics. Working for Frog Tutoring will give me the opportunity to continue what I love.

Approach

When faced with difficult teaching subjects, I've always attempted to face issues with logic. How should one learn this material? Why is it important as a real world application? I feel that I'm wired to teach shortly after learning, and always try to listen to others' issues and put myself in their shoes.

I encourage my tutees to start thinking the same way, and I am more than happy when my services are no longer needed. I hold the motto "the best way to learn is to teach."

Biochemistry Tutoring

This was my major field of research during my undergraduate studies, and I was able to participate in many independent research projects in enzymology. Even though my work has strayed from Biochemistry, my background is very broad in chemistry, and I have several immersive studying tools/presentations to help students succeed.

I took Biochemistry I & II, Molecular Biology, Comparative Physiology, and the Biomedical Basis of Disease.

Biology II Tutoring

Evolutionary concepts were one of my favorite subjects to tutor while I was at the Science Learning Lab during my studies at the College of Charleston. I took this course while in high school, and I have continued to research heavily in the field of evolution. It would my utmost pleasure to enhance students' understanding in this field.

Chemistry Advance Tutoring

This was my major field of research during my undergraduate studies, and I was able to participate in many independent research projects in enzymology and surfactant kinetics. Even though my work has strayed from Chemistry my background is very broad in chemistry, and I have several immersive studying tools/presentations to help students succeed.

I took Biochemistry I & II, Physical Chemistry I & II, Computational Chemistry, and Quantitative Analysis. I scored in the 92nd percentile on the ACS Exit Exam for all Chemistry graduates.

Elementary Statistics Tutoring

I did several one-on-one sessions with students on elementary and business statistics. I am capable of both use R computing software and Excel to solve complex problems in statistics. In fact, I learned how to solve problems along with students on one-on-one sessions, so I am much closer to understanding the learning process than in Chemistry.

Finance Tutoring

This was another major part of my studies in both my undergraduate and graduate courses.

Name a model, I've done them to an extreme degree. I've taken MBA-level courses in Finance as well. Finally, I was involved in a student investment group that created hour-long presentations on financial modeling and business analysis of publicly traded stocks.

Even though my work has strayed from Chemistry my background is very broad in chemistry, and I have several immersive studying tools/presentations to help students succeed.
