Fun Facts

I am a guy who love martial arts, reading lots of educational literature from JAMA and JCHEMED,and am currently learning Chinese for fun. Extra-curricular activities include working with children at St. Andrew's Elementary school and I am a SGA Senator of VCU. I also enjoy playing classical guitar.

About Me

I am currently a VCU junior who is working on an Applied Mathematics major as well as a Chemistry minor. I have three publications based on Organic Chemistry projects I worked on in High school in conjunction with georgetown-university">Georgetown University. I love listening and taking notes with TED talks.

My experience with richmond">tutoring students and kids started at the young age of 11. I was not only responsible for teaching and helping my four younger siblings with math and sciences, but also participated in groups such as Timberlane richmond">Tutors, Lemon Road Elementary School After school richmond">tutoring program. Currently I am helping people who are my age with college level Chemistry, Calculus and Biology.

The teaching mantra I follow is one that is that I would teach the student a concept to the point that they would simply understand the central idea of the lesson. I find that communication and trying to find ways to help a student learn the information easier (whether visual or audible) is the most effective way to richmond">tutoring. Just listening and trying your best to provide outside examples is what helps students grasp the information easier and become more successful.
