I am originally from a small suburb in the outskirts of maryland/baltimore">Baltimore, MD but left to go to school in Philadelphia, PA. I consider myself a city girl at heart and have fallen in love with Philly. I love to travel different places and meet different people. I have been to Jamaica, Guatemala, and Italy, among others. About Me

I am currently at Junior at Temple University studying Early Childhood Education. At Temple, I am a member of the Honor's Program and have made it on the Dean's List a few semesters. After graduating, I hope to teach in an elementary school in the Philadelphia School District, while going back to school to receive my master's degree from a graduate program.

While going to school at Temple, I found a job as a mentor for ESF's program Dream Camp located at Girard College. My responsibilities include helping campers with homework and studying for upcoming tests. In addition, I prepare enrichment activities and lessons to further the educational success of my campers.

It has been my experience that children learn best when the material is relatable to themselves and their learning styles. Therefore, in my philadelphia">tutoring approach, I focus on making the material personal and interesting to the student. In addition, I believe learning is only successful if the student is confident in their ability, but also curious enough to test themselves and reach for more. For this reason, I will use lots of encouragement and positivity with my students, as well as a healthy mix of constructive criticism or push.
