About Me
I am a junior English major and German minor at the portland">University of Portland. I grew up just 20 minutes outside of Portland in Hillsboro, Oregon, where I lived from age 5 to age 18. Since then my family has moved down to Santa Barbara, California; what a great vacation spot! When I finish my undergraduate degree I plan to attend graduate school in order to obtain my PhD in American Literature. After this I hope to become a college professor somewhere on the West Coast.

This past year I began working in the portland">University of Portland Writing Center as a writing assistant. While the student expresses their ideas to me in conversation, I record what they say on paper. This then allows the student and me to make an outline together. I also help students find their way through papers and writing projects by asking leading, or "socratic," questions. These questions are meant to lead a student in the right direction, while also allowing them to find the answer on their own. Lastly, I tr
