Fun Facts

I love to hike and was privileged to hike up in Enchanted Rock near Fredericksburg. I also enjoy public speaking and have been a member of my Toastmasters for about six years. I enjoy discussing and debating politics, which was one of the main reasons I came to Texas.

About Me

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rutgers University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and minors get in Journalism. I was a member of the national honor society for evening college students and Psychology. After school, a 2009 volunteering opportunity for a Governor's race changed my career trajectory. I hope to be a political consultant someday.

Experience

While an undergrad, I wrote as a full-time writer for the student newspaper and interned at one of the region's largest newspapers. I've had many front page stories published with my name on the byline.
Having three younger siblings gave me a love for young people and a desire to help them. I was in the Big Brothers Big a sisters program for about three years and learned the value of volunteering my time for someone else.

Approach

Learning was never easy for me, and I've had firs hand experience of humiliation when a teacher makes you feel like you should be getting a concept when you don't. My difficult experiences taught me patience and empathy for others. As a frog tutor, I encourage questions, embrace struggle and eliminate shame through patience. It's a privilege to tutor someone in need, and I never take it lightly.
